Giggle & Read Foundation

Giggle & Read is a second generation family business working to bring our fun and fully scripted learn-to-read program to more families. The program was conceived in the 1970s by parents trying help their struggling second grader whose dyslexia was undiagnosed. Decades later, their daughter (Giggle president Monica VanHorn) faced the same challenge with her child, so she updated the program to align with evidence-based early literacy standards. We publish and provide a play-based learn-to-read program for kids ages 4 to 6. We are currently in our second year of expansion since our first small pilot at Oak Bluffs Library. Our 2026-2027 program sessions will start win October so more parents, grandparents, tutors and teachers can have fun teaching kids to read at home, in school or even in the library!
